Kelly Chen-McDonagh | She/Her/Hers | Registered Psychotherapist (RP) MA, BScH

Warm, active therapy for anxiety, ADHD, relationships, and life transitions.

Hi! I’m Kelly.

Maybe you’re feeling overwhelmed, stressed out, adrift, unseen, unheard, lonely, stuck, frustrated, tired, crispy, or just generally… icky. Maybe you spend a lot of time replaying conversations, telling someone you’re doing okay when you feel anything BUT okay, or realizing you’re hitting a limit and need some help but have no idea where to start. You might be worried about disappointing people, struggling to set boundaries, or noticing the same frustrating patterns showing up in your relationships.

I’m a Registered Psychotherapist who works with adults navigating anxiety, ADHD, relationship challenges, people-pleasing, perfectionism, stress and burnout, and major life transitions — including university or college life, career changes, moving, new relationships, breakups, divorce, parenthood, and family planning.

I try to bring warmth, curiosity, and a genuine interest in understanding what life has been like for you into our work together. You know your life better than I ever could, so I don’t see therapy as me sitting across from you telling you what you should do. I tend to be pretty active in sessions: I’ll ask questions, share what I’m noticing, and get curious with you when something seems important. You won’t be expected to do all the talking while I sit quietly and nod.

Everyone’s story is different, and I’m interested in understanding your experiences as part of the bigger picture. Together, we can slow things down enough to notice what’s been working, what might have room to change, and any patterns that keep popping up. Sometimes that means connecting what’s happening now with earlier experiences or relationships. Other times, it might mean figuring out what you actually need when you’ve spent a long time worrying about what everyone else needs from you.

My hope is that therapy can be a place where you feel genuinely heard and understood without judgment while finding a little more clarity and trust in yourself. If something here feels familiar, I’d be happy to connect and see whether working together feels like a good fit.
